On September 22, 1977, Bryan Bone was born in Georgetown, one of the oldest coastal towns in the State South Carolina. Growing up in a church that has a strong music ministry helped develop Bryan’s love of all things music. However, singing has always come naturally to Bryan. As a small child, he would often record himself singing into his Fisher Price tape recorder and play it back for whoever would listen.
By the time Bryan reached Middle School, he decided to join the school band and play an instrument. He chose the clarinet. Bryan learned his new instrument fairly quickly and often held the first chair position.
In High School, he decided to put down his clarinet and join the Georgetown High School chorus. Around this time, Bryan bought his first guitar, a $75 Fender acoustic. One of the guitar players from church taught Bryan a few chords. A dreamer was born… He began improving his craft: singing, playing and songwriting. One of his first employers during these early years actually told Bryan he was going to fire him if he didn’t stop singing out in the flower fields of the nursery yard. Bryan loved singing even thought he thought no one was listening. Obliviously, it was more than his boss could bear.
After graduating high school in 1996, Bryan met a young woman (Mandy) who would eventually become his Wife. Her Father, who has been playing guitar and singing since the age of six, introduced Bryan to classic rock-n-roll. Up to this point, Bryan had been a huge country music fan. He loved artists such as Garth Brooks, Charlie Daniels, Hank, Jr., and Travis Tritt. Now, he was listening to Lynyrd Skynrd, Bad Company, Blackfoot and newer bands such as 3 Doors Down and Shinedown. Bryan feels that years of blended genres have helped develop his current rocking-country style.
After getting married and a finding a “real” job, Bryan realized a music career wasn’t going to be as simple as he’d originally thought. The dream of using his gifts and talents to support his family began to fade. An unfortunate event, the loss of his Wife’s beloved companion horse, gave Mandy an opportunity to invest in Bryan’s music career. The insurance proceeds from this loss allowed Bryan to fund his first project and independent album. “The Highway” is a blend of original and cover songs with the positive message of Christ at the heart of it. While working with Lamon Records and recording “The Highway” at DLab Studios, Bryan experienced a whole new side of the music business. He fell in love with working in the studio. Through self-promotion, “The Highway” sold 500 units and received radio play in several countries. Again, Bryan realized the difficulty of making his love of music a career. Bryan has always considered himself to be a singer first, then a guitar player/songwriter. He continues to work his day job, play music and continue to run after any musical opportunity that comes his way!
